The False Baton Blue is restricted to the Iberian Peninsula and is found in stony areas with flower- rich vegetation and scrub. Different plants are given in the literature, such as Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), Green Heather (Erica scoparia), and the labiate annual Cleonia lusitanica. It is on the leaves of Cleonia lusitanica that the female lays her eggs, although the caterpillars feed on the flowers. The False Baton Blue hibernates as a caterpillar, and is single-brooded in Europe.
